Apparently it is a known issue with dodge chargers and other vehicles with the same engine but the 3.5l will develop a "ticking" noise that is caused by a rocker dowel pin shearing off. A simple search online will show numerous owners with the same issue. From the shifting of the sheared pin, the oiling holes become misaligned and the rockers starve from oil a bit.
